The Training and Placement Cell of Assam Agricultural University was set up in 1998. The Training & Placement Cell is an essential component of Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat catering to the needs of its students for their career development. The cell facilitates campus interviews and placement in various government and non-government organizations. The cell organizes training programmes on personality development, communication skills, leadership and such other areas. Pre-placement talks are also conducted by the cell as per convenience. Large numbers of graduate and post graduate students of Assam Agricultural University have been placed in different organizations involved in Research and Development, Business, Banking, Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Veterinary Science, Fishery Science and Community science sector.

    The Training and Placement Cell of Assam Agricultural University acts as a bridge between the recruiting organizations and the university students for placements and internships. The cell facilitates employment opportunities through campus interviews and placement of the students in various government and non-government organizations. It organizes various training programmes, workshops, pre-placement talks and other related events to enhance the employability skills of the students.   • Meticulous Admission Process :

    The selection procedure of the various degree programmes at Assam Agricultural University ensures that only the competent students can make it to its nine different colleges located across the state.

    • For various Under Graduate Degree Programmes, the university takes Common Entrance Test for Under-graduate Programmes (CETUG-AAU) to fill up the vacant seats every year
    • For Master's Degree Programmes, the selection of the candidates is made through the NTA score obtained by the candidates in ICAR's AIEEA (PG) examination conducted during the year
    • There will be a second channel of admission in order to admit the eligible students across the subject groups in the Faculties of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, by conducting a Common Entrance Test (CET). However, the admission of CET qualified candidates may be considered only when they don’t find a place in a Department of their choice through NTA score
    • The University may also conduct Entrance Test (ET) for the subject/Department for which the ICAR does not conduct a similar test, such as, THT and for the subject groups with inconsistent eligibility criteria like BAC/FST/ABT/MBA
    • For M.Sc. Degree Programme in Agricultural Biotechnology and M.V.Sc. degree programme in Animal Biotechnology the candidates shall be selected on basis of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Biotechnology (GAT-B) to be conducted nationally by DBT or DBT-approved agencies
    • Selection of the candidates for admission into Ph.D. Degree Programmes shall be based on the NTA score obtained by the candidates in ICAR's AICE-JRF/SRF (Ph.D.) during the year.
  • Multi-Skilled Human Resources :

    Assam Agricultural University is a hub to inspire the young and budding talents not only in the academic activities but also in extra-curricular activities of different kinds. Students are engaged in various literary, sports and cultural events starting from inter hostel competitions to national level competitions like All India Inter Agricultural Universities Youth Festival, All India Inter Agricultural Universities Sports and Games Meet and many other such events. Students are also engaged in different social and national services through National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet Corps (NCC) programmes. Besides these, students have their own union bodies to look after various portfolios in all the colleges under Assam Agricultural University. The Student’s Society/Union of each college arranges the co-curricular activities such as games, sports, athletics, drama, social services etc.
