Achivements
  • RARS, Titabar

    1. One new disease of rice in India viz., pre and post emergence seed and seedling rot (Saprolegnia auiscospora) and two new diseases of Assam viz., sheath blotch ( Pyraenochaeta oryzae) and crown sheath rot (Gaeunomyces graminis) have been reported,

    2. In BLB endemic areas, basal application of NCU and MRPU was advocated..

    3. The fruit rot of okra (Phytopthora palmivora) was first reported from Assam
  • RARS, Shillongani

    1. From extensive survey, on diseases of jute and allied fire crops, at the CBVZ of Assam, incidence of two major diseases viz., stem rot and anthracnose have been reported.

    2. Imparted trainings to farmers under SRPP, for identification of rice diseases and adoption of modern technology for their management
  • AICPIP, Jorhat Center

    1. Survey works revealed that late blight was the major disease of potato at Jorhat district of Assam. This was followed by bacterial wilt, leaf roll and mild mosaic, which were also prominent.

    2.First weak of November planting was the best as a preventive measure against late blight of potato.

    3. Imparted farmers' training at UBVZ of Assam, for adoption of TPS technology.
  • Under teaching programme of Department of Plant Pathology

    1. Actively associated in teaching programme of UG, PG and Ph.D. courses of of Department of Plant Pathology, AAU, Jorhat.

    2. Developed teaching aids in terms of practical manuals for UG and PG courses.

    3. Guided 10 PG as major advisor and 5 PG and 2 Ph.D. students as member of major discipline.

    4. Guided 12 PG and 2 Ph. D. students as member of minor discipline.

    5. Member of Monitoring and Evaluation team of RAWEP, Advisor in Student’s Advisory System, Secretary in Women grievance Cell of Plant Pathology, Member of revision of U.G. Course Syllabus as per Forth Deans Committee Report.

    6.Guided 2 B. Sc. Degree students of Department of Botany, Bahona College, Jorhat under Dibrugarh University in completion of project work of Internship Programme.

    7. Guided 1 Clas XII student of Maharishi Vidya Mandir (Senior Secondary School), Karanga, Jorhat, in completion of Investigatory Project on ‘Mushroom Cultivation (Oyster)'

    8. Reviewer of research papers of ARCC, Journals, Agril. Res. Communication Centre, Karnal, Haryana, India.

    9. Act as question paper setter, external examiner, thesis evaluator of SASRD, Medziphema, Nagaland University/CA, CAU, Imphal/College of Post Graduate Studies, CAU, Umium, Meghalaya.

    10. Question paper setter for the preliminary and main examination of the combined competitive

    examination, from 2014,-15 to 2018-19, appointed by Principal Controller of Examinations, APSC,

    Jawaharnagar, Khanapara, Guwahati.

    11. Question paper setter for recruitment to the post of Agricultural Development Officer,

    under Agriculture Department, appointed by Principal Controller of Examinations,

    APSC, Jawaharnagar, Khanapara, Guwahati (May, 2019).

    12. Achievement of students under Major Guidance

    i) Sanjoy Kr. Banikya, awarded 2nd prize, in the P.G. Research Poster presentation, organised

    by AAU, Agri Alumni Meet, 2011, at AAU, Jorhat.

    ii) Ms. Sukanya Gogoi, P.G. student, honoured with Best Poster Presentation at Research

    Conclave, 18, held on 08-11th March, 2018, organised by Students Academic Board, IIT,

    Guwahati, India,

    ii) Sultana Fahnaz, P.G. student, received 2nd Best Poster Presentation award in the

    International Conference on “Climate change, Bio-diversity and sustainable Agriculture”

    organised by Prof. H.S. Srivastava Foundation for Science, Lucknow, U.P, in collaboration

    with AAU, Jorhat, on 13th to 16th Decm. 2018.

    iii). Suvetha T. S. qualified SRF, (Rank 38) during, 2020.
