Achivements
  • Finger Millet variety AAU-GSG-Maruadhan 1 notified by Central Variety Release committee. Foxtail millet variety AAU-GSG-Cawn 1 released by State Variety Release Committee for Assam.
  • Package of practices for tobacco recommended for Assam
  • Package of practices for buckwheat recommended for Assam
  • Package of practices for French bean recommended for Assam
  • Rapeseed variety TS36 and TS 38 recommended for Lower Brahmaputra Valley Zone of Assam
  • Soybean variety JS 2 was recommended for Lower Brahmaputra Valley Zone of Assam
  • Three varieties of Maize, viz., Vivek QPM 47, Vivek QPM 53 and Bioseed 9544 recommended for the zone, through AICRP system
  • One agronomic recommendation on intercropping of maize with black gram and soybean in paired row system with residue retention of 5 t/ha increase the yield by 15%.
  • Massive demonstration and popularization of Maize hybrid DKC 9081. Awareness and popularization of Finger millet and foxtail millet cultivation in the zone.
  • Popularization of Stress Tolerant Rice Variety like Bina 11, Ranjit Sub I, Bahadur Sub I and Swarna Sub I.
  • Popularization of Maize (DKC 9081), Buckwheat (Local) and Rapeseed (TS36 & TS 38) through Tribal Sub Plan (TSP).
