Achivements
- I had joined Assam Agricultural University on 7th November, 2008 and got involved in teaching, research and extension of agricultural technologies. Till date, I have conducted organized 48 numbers of extension training programmes apart from 13 Nos. of On Farm Testings (OFTs) and 22 Nos. of Front Line Demonstrations (FLDs) of various agricultural technologies. Moreover, I have delivered more than 50 Nos. of invited lectures in various training programs besides involvement in participatory extension activities like participatory rural appraisal (PRA), awareness camps, animal vaccination camps, farmers’ scientist interaction program, exposure visits, etc. I was also associated with participatory research programme like FPARP, NFSM, RKVY, etc. Since 2015, I have been associated with 5 Nos. of ad-hoc research projects as Co-Principal Investigator. During my short research career, I had carried out a few basic researches and the significant research achievements were published in several reputed national and international journals. My specific research area of interest is the integrated pest management and economic entomology, with special emphasis to biorationals for management of rice and tea insect pests, in addition to storage insect pest management. I have been associated with teaching of both under-graduate (UG) and post-graduate (PG) students all about fascinating insect science since 2015. Either as a course leader or an associate teacher, I have been associated with different courses like Insect Morphology and Systematics, Economic Entomology including IPM, Insect Pests of Vegetable and Ornamental Crops, Classification of Insects, Insect pest of fruits, plantation, medicinal and aromatic crops, Insect Anatomy, Physiology and Nutrition, Insect Behaviour, Principles of Integrated Pest Management, Insect behavior , etc. I have also been guiding post graduate student to complete their degree program. Altogether 7 students had completed M.Sc. (Agri) degree program and 3 students have been were perusing post graduate degree programme under my guidance. Later, I have joined in the post of Jr. Scientist, Directorate of Research (Agri), AAU, Jorhat on September 22, 2018, where I got involved in different administrative works apart from several institution building activities.
