  • The Secretariat of the United Nations Convention to combat Desertification (UNCCD) invited Dr.MunmunSarma as Academicia to attend the fourteenth session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 14), the eighteenth session of the Committee for the Review of the Implementation of the Convention (CRIC 18) and the Fourteenth session of theCommittee on Science and Technology (CST 14) to the UNCCD held in India from 02 to 13 September 2019
  • Dr. Mumun Sarma received Lifetime Achievement Award on 29th July, 2020 on the occasion of RAM SINGH SINGH MEMORIAL NATIONAL ANIMAL WELFARE AWARD 2020 conferred by PASUDHAN PRAHAREE in recognition of Significant and Outstanding Service/ Contribution in the Field of Animal Welfare.
  • Dr. Mumun Sarma received Inspiring Lady Veterinarian Award 2021 conferred by Pashudhan Praharee under category ACADEMICIA on 8th March, 2021.
  • Dr. Munmun Sarma, Professor, Anatomy & Histology, CVSc successfully conducted and completed the One Week Compulsory Training Course of Indian Forest Service (IFS) Officers at College of Veterinary Science College of Veterinary Science, AAU, Khanapara virtually from 18-22 January, .2021 on “Human Wildlife Conflict: Causes and Mitigation measures” which was sponsored by Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change (RT), Government of India, New Delhi
  • Dr. Mumun Sarma received ICAR Junior Research Fellowship under 1988-89 programme, Pusa, New Delhi for pursuing M.V.Sc degree in Veterinary Anatomy.
  • Dr. Munmun received Best Paper Award for oral presentation of the research paper entitled “Anatomical study on the mandible of Asian Elephant” in 2004 in the XIX Annual Convention of Indian Association of Veterinary Anatomists and National Symposium organized by the Department of Anatomy & Histology, West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, Kolkata- 700 037 w.e.f. 16th to 18th November 2004 which was co-authored by Kalita S. N., Das, J. P., and Sarma, K. K..
  • Best Clinical Article Award for clinical article entitled “Trematode infection in Asian elephants and its treatment with Neozide” published in INTAS POLIVET. (2005): 6(II): 318-19 authored by Sarma K K, Thomas S and Sarma M.
  • Dr. Munmun Sarma received Best Paper award for oral presentation of the research paper entitled “Macromorphological study on the tongue of Asian elephant calves (Elephas maximus) in 2006 in the National Symposium and XXI Annual Convention of IAVA in the Department of Veterinary Anatomy & Histology, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu w.e.f. 21-23 December, 2006 Co-authored by Kalita S N, and Sarma K K.
  • Dr. Munmun Sarma received Dr. MD. Hafeezuddin Silver Jubilee Award & Gold Plated Silver Medal for the Best Paper in Anatomy of Wild & Zoo Animals on the paper presented entitled “Gross Anatomical study on the femur of Adult Asian elephant (Elephas maximus)” co-authored S N Kalita in XXIII Annual Convention of Indian Association of Veterinary Anatomists and National Symposium organized by the Department of Veterinary Anatomy, Histology, College of Veterinary Science, CCSHAU, Hissar 125004 -01, Haryana from November 5th to 7th 2008.
  • Dr. Munmun Sarma received Late Shri L.O. Dhande Memorial Silver Jubilee Award & Medal for the Best Paper in Forensic Anatomy including Archaeological study on the paper “ Study on the Hair of few wild and semi-wild mammals: A forensic approach”(2009) co-authored by A. Singson, S.N. Kalita and K.K. Sarma. It was presented in the International Congress on Veterinary Anatomy and XXIV Annual Convention of Indian Association of Veterinary Anatomists organized in the Hotel Taj Residency, Lucknow( India) from 4th to 6th November 2009
  • Dr. Munmun Sarma received Late L. O. Dhande Memorial Silver Jubilee Award & Medal for the Best Paper in Forensic Anatomy including Archaeological Study on the paper entitled “Species identification based on the study of medulla of hair of some wild, domestic and Laboratory animals.” Presented in the XXV Annual Convention of Indian Association of Veterinary Anatomists and National Symposium on “Veterinary Anatomy as a vital partner in the improvement of Health and production of Livestock and Birds” in 2010 organized by the Department of Anatomy & Histology, Rajib Gandhi College of Veterinary and Animal Science, , Kurumbapet, Puducherry- 605 009
  • Received Best Paper in Gross Anatomy as a Co-author on the paper entitled “Morphological and craniometrical study of skull of black Bengal goat of Tripura.” Presented in the XXV Annual Convention of Indian Association of Veterinary Anatomists and National Symposium on “Veterinary Anatomy as a vital partner in the improvement of Health and production of Livestock and Birds” in 2010 organized by the Department of Anatomy & Histology, Rajib Gandhi College of Veterinary and Animal Science, , Kurumbapet, Puducherry- 605 009 and authored by K B Dev Choudhury, A.   • Dr. Munmun Sarma received the most prestigious “Fellow IAVA Award, 2010” of the Indian Association of Veterinary Anatomists in admiration of outstanding services rendered to the Discipline of Veterinary Anatomy which was given the Inaugural Function of the XXV Annual Convention of Indian Association of Veterinary Anatomists and National Symposium on “Veterinary Anatomy as a vital partner in the improvement of Health and production of Livestock and Birds” organized by the Department of Anatomy & Histology, Rajib Gandhi College of Veterinary and Animal Science, , Kurumbapet, Puducherry- 605 009.   • Received Dr. Mohan Bhattacharya Silver Jubilee Medal & Award for the best Paper in Histology, Histochemistry & Electron Microscopy in the XXVII Annual Convention of IAVA & National Symposium organized by the Department of Anatomy, Thrissur w.e.f. 28-30 November, 2012 for oral presentation of the research paper entitled “Lipid Histochemistry in the skin of Indigenous Goat of Assam” and authored by Henguli Pathak, Munmun Sarma and Gajen Baishya.

  • Dr. (Ms) Munmun Sarma, Associate Professor, Dept. of Anatomy & Histology, CVSc, AAU, Khanapara was conferred the Most prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award on Wildlife Health “ on 19th April, 2013 in Bhubaneswar in a National symposium on ‘Newer approaches in welfare and health management of captive and free ranging wild animals’ organized jointly by ‘Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology’ and ‘Association of Indian Zoo and Wildlife Veterinarians’ for her outstanding research works on health care and management of Wildlife fauna in Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology held from 19.04.2013 to 21.04.2013
  • Dr. Munmun Sarma conducted and successfully completed the 4th Refreshers’ Course for the field Veterinarians on “Healthcare and Management of Asian elephant” as Co-Course Director sponsored by Project Elephant Directorate, Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India, New Delhi vide Dean’s notice memo No. AAU/ CVSc/ 4th Refreshers Course/ 20045-05/ 8958-66 dated 08.03.05.
