College of Community Science (erstwhile College of Home Science) is one of the constituent colleges of Assam Agricultural University out of nine colleges under the university. Community Science is an applied and integrated science which aims at improving the quality of life for the individual, family and the community through interdisciplinary education, research and extension. Community Science can be interpreted as systemic education for organized living which includes ever changing technological advancement and behavioural modification of people in the community. It is the perfect fit for individuals who have the capability to use their skills in a scientific and logical manner and provide professional competence to meet out the opportunities and challenges in the ever changing society.

Dr. Binita Deori, is presently the Founder Secretary of the Organization (BEENEEZ, A Social Development Society, located in Moran) and a Textile Designer & Entrepreneur by profession and also executive member of GAEF (Global Assam Entrepreneur Forum) International Team. I have been working on Assam Silk since 2006. My sole objective and effort is to generate sustainable livelihood through employment and economic independence among the rural women artisans with an aim to drive the age old handloom industry to a new height by Giving Industrial look to our traditional textile. Export products to International Market.
Presently around 17 villages and 800 women artisans from different nearby villages are associated with the Organization contributing to the production of various handloom products.
As an Alumni from FRM, Community Science I was guided and contributed knowledge and efforts from my respected faculties. Now, for their contribution to my career I have the opportunity to contribute to Women and Children as a Children Development Project Officer, because Development of Women and Children as a whole will develop our Society and Country.
Anjana Bharali, a distinguished alumna of the College of Community Science, resides in Vancouver, Canada, where she has carved a successful niche for herself in the real estate sector. In 2015, Anjali embarked on a meaningful career journey by working with individuals with special needs, demonstrating her commitment to community service. Her educational pursuits led her to the prestigious Sauder School of Business under the University of British Columbia, where she honed her skills and knowledge in business. With a solid foundation in community science and a keen understanding of business principles, Anjali has seamlessly transitioned into the realm of real estate, earning a noteworthy real estate license. Her trajectory from community service to a thriving career in real estate is a testament to her versatility, dedication, and the valuable education she received at the College of Community Science and the Sauder School of Business. Anjali Bharali continues to make significant contributions, exemplifying the spirit of excellence instilled by her alma mater.
Ms. Pooli Barman, an accomplished Textile Print Designer and Surface Developer who graduated from Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, and Master's degree at Nottingham Trent University, UK . Pooli excels in key modules such as Innovation in Textile Practice, Research Methodology, and Design Process. Her expertise extends to experimentation with various surface development techniques, including screen printing, digital printing, laser cutting, and digital embroidery. Possessing advanced CAD skills using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, and Wilcom Embroidery Studio, Pooli is adept at translating her creative vision into tangible textile designs. Her proficiency in textile print designing, coupled with a deep understanding of techniques and applications, sets her apart. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, Pooli Barman is not just a student but a visionary artist shaping the future of textile design. After completing graduation from College of Home Science, Had done MBA from Birla Institute of Technology via CAT. Joined as Management trainee in One German Based Shipping Company and raise to General Manager level. After 7 years of work writer felt to upgrade his skills and knowledge so enroll for Senior Management MBA program from IIM Calcutta and completed it with Distinction. This course from IIM Calcutta motivated me to try something own which led me to open my own Shipping company. Currently from last 3 years i m based at Dubai running my own Shipping Company.
