Academics at Assam Agricultural University
Assam Agricultural University provides ample opportunities to build the future and career of its students. The University has two core constituent faculties—the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Community Science—under which six constituent colleges impart quality education, hands-on field experiments, and leadership training.
All academic curricula strictly follow the recommendations of the ICAR 5th Deans' Committee, incorporating the Rural Agricultural Work Experience Programme (RAWEP), Experiential Learning Modules (ELM), and internship programmes to prepare students for corporate, civil service, and academic careers worldwide.

Located ~600 km from Jorhat serving Lower Assam, offering professional 4-year B.Sc.(Hons) Agriculture education.

The College of Community Science (established in 1973 as the College of Home Science) is located at AAU Headquarters in Jorhat. The faculty prepares specialized professionals in nutrition, human development, family resource management, apparel design, and extension communication.

College of Horticulture and Farming System Research
Established in 2014 at Nalbari (approx. 400 km from Jorhat), the college is dedicated to advancing horticultural production, fruit & vegetable science, protected cultivation, and farming system research. The college offers the 4-year professional B.Sc. (Hons) Horticulture degree (8 semesters).

College of Sericulture
Established in 2014 at Titabar (~25 km from Jorhat), this is a unique institution in the whole of North-Eastern India dedicated to the science and technology of silk production—specializing in Assam's golden Muga, Eri, Mulberry (Pat), and Oak Tasar silkworms. The college offers the 4-year B.Sc. (Hons) Sericulture degree (8 semesters).
