The Department of Agricultural Sciences (AS) was
established in 2017 as per the Indian Council of Agricultural Research
(ICAR) Fifth Deans' Committee report to make provisions for imparting
education in agricultural and allied subjects, an amalgam of several
relevant branches of science and technology. Agricultural science programs are
among the courses that are gaining greater significance in the present era of
globalization because of the necessity to boost agri-seri production and
profitability, conserve natural resources, protect the environment and face the
challenges of climate change through innovative and
safer high-value production, processing and trade systems. The department
is committed to developing quality human resources, innovative
technologies, and their dissemination to serve the farming community with
dedication and zeal. Students are exposed to reputed specialized academic and
research institutions, industries, and real farming conditions under highly
qualified and experienced faculty.
