The Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities (BSH) came into existence in the year 2017 as per the guidelines of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Fifth Deans' Committee report. It is a multidisciplinary department that consists of qualified and dedicated faculty members. The faculty of the department undertake research in advanced and interdisciplinary areas to keep up-to-date in emerging domains of sericulture as well as agriculture. The research experience of the faculty members is reflected in classroom teaching and all the faculties emphasize the use of ICT tools in the teaching-learning process. The department is dedicated to imparting value-based education that has scientific, technical, and social dimensions and also given the importance of holistic development of the students in terms of curricular and extracurricular activities.
