The Department of Veterinary Medicine under LCVSc, AAU, Joyhing, is one of the academic departments of the College. This department encompasses both Veterinary Clinical Medicine, Ethics and Jurisprudence and Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine. Apart from imparting the undergraduate VMD courses as per VCI syllabus, the faculty members are routinely associated with Veterinary Clinical Complex and the Livestock Farm Complex. The department is also associated with various extension activities and works to contribute towards the prevention and treatment of various diseases of livestock and companion animals. Currently, the department has three faculties in the rank of Assistant Professors: One faculty of Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine- Dr. Prasanta Kumar Boro, I/C HOD and two faculties of Veterinary Clinical Medicine, Ethics and Jurisprudence: Dr. Pallabi Thakuria and Dr. Sampurna Nand Yadav.
