Assam Agricultural University-Goat Research Station (AAU-GRS) was established in the year 1978 under the Directorate of Research (Veterinary), Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat. The station is providing facilities for undergraduate teaching and post graduate research. Presently the station has a flock of Beetal, Assam Hill Goat (AHG) and Beetal × AHG cross Goats. Frozen semen from Beetal buck is produced regularly and supplied to ALDA, Govt. of Assam. The station is providing Technical Guidance and Hands-on training programme to goat Entrepreneurs across the state.
