The
Department of Agricultural Engineering came
into existence with the commencement of the Sarat Chandra Sinha College of
Agriculture on 22nd August, 2014. The Department of Agricultural
Engineering offers the courses that deal with the application
of engineering principles and scientific technologies for sustainable food
production, and all along the food production to consumption chain.
With the advancement of agriculture, the education in Agricultural Engineering has also been gradually developed and taken a definite shape through inclusion of theoretical as well as practical courses in multi-directional fields. The course structure and syllabus for the UG (under 5th Dean committee) have been designed to create skilled and technically sound human resources to cater the engineering needs of farm mechanization, irrigation and drainage, soil and water conservation, post-harvest processing and protected cultivation of crops, value addition and renewable energy.The laboratory infrastructure has been developing gradually to impart the essential practical knowledge.
