Anti Ragging & Vigilance Committees, Squads & Cell 2026

In partial modification of earlier notification vide Memo No. AAU/FA-10/2/189/2026-27/3729-759/ Dt. 20.08.2026, the following Vigilance cum Anti-Ragging Committees, Anti-Ragging Squads and Anti-Ragging Cell are constituted for the Jorhat Campus of Assam Agricultural University for the Academic Session 2026-27 to keep strict vigilance on any type of ragging in the hostels and the campus with immediate effect as per the UGC notification on "Regulation on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institution, 2009" in pursuance to the Judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India Dated 08.05.2009. Further, Dr. Kalyan Pathak, Professor & Head, Dept. of Agronomy, AAU, Jorhat is identified as the Nodal Officer for the purpose.

Terms of Reference for the Anti-Ragging Committees & Squads

Ensure compliance with the provisions of the anti-ragging regulations as well as the provisions of any law in force concerning ragging, and investigate complaints.
Inculcate a culture of a Ragging-Free Environment on Campus and design strategies and action plans for curbing the menace of ragging.
Conduct awareness programmes from time to time on campus.
The Anti-Ragging Squad will make frequent visits to various hostels and other places of student congregation at any time to ascertain maintenance of discipline, keep a vigil, and stop incidences of ragging.
Engage with students for regular interaction and counseling to detect early signs of ragging and trouble triggers, and work in tandem in prevention of ragging on the Jorhat campus of AAU.
