AAU-KVK, Karbi Anglong
History:Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Karbi Anglong, Amlokhi operates under the administrative control of Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat, with funding support from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The centre received administrative approval from ICAR in 1999 as a re-mandated KVK to bridge the gap between agricultural technology innovation and farm adoption in the hill district of Assam. Later on it was sanctioned as full-fledged KVK during 2004. The KVK is located at Amlokhi on the NH39 (Between Manja-Dimapur road). 
Mandated Activities:
Following standard ICAR guidelines adapted for the regional agricultural ecosystem, the primary mandates of the KVK include:
1. On-Farm Testing (OFT): Assessing and refining location-specific agricultural technologies under local micro-farming conditions.
2. Frontline Demonstrations (FLD): Demonstrate the production potential of newly released crop varieties, livestock breeds, and farm tools directly at farmers\' fields.
3. Capacity Building: Conducting short-term and long-term training programs for farmers, farm women, rural youth, progressive farmers, extension personnel, entrepreneur etc. to build vocational skills in agriculture and allied sectors.
Besides mandated activitices the centre also acts as Knowledge Hub and Resource Centre for providing technical advice, quality seeds, planting materials, and advisory services using ICT tools to support line departments and local farming communities.
Staff Position: The staff structure follows standard ICAR norms led by a Senior Scientist and Head (formerly Programme Coordinator), supported by a multidisciplinary team.
