AAU-KVK, Kamrup
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kamrup, winner of best KVK (Zonal) award for the year 2013 was established in 2004 under the aegis of Assam Agricultural University at its Kahikuchi campus. It is located on national highway no. 37 at a distance of about 18 kms from Guwahati city and 3 kms from LGB International Airport. The present administrative building of KVK, Kamrup is equipped with one farmer\'s meeting hall, a seminar hall, a full-fledged soil testing laboratory, exhibition hall, number of storage go-downs, various demonstration units for Agri and allied sectors in its campus. There is a farmers\' hostel of KVK, Kamrup where 40 farmers can be accommodated at a time. KVK, Kamrup has been testing and demonstrating of proven agricultural and allied technologies and conducting trainings. Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kamrup is trying its best to bridge the gap between production and productivity and also to create self-employment opportunities amongst unemployed educated rural youths in the field of Agriculture and allied sectors in addition to performing other regular activities such as - production & sale of quality seed and planting material, mushroom spawn, vermicompost, vermiworm etc. KVK, Kamrup has been regularly disseminating advisories to the farmers.
