Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) is a noble concept developed by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) as primary links to empower the farmers, farm women and rural youth through capacity buildings. It is an innovative science based institution which functions with collaborative participation of scientists, extension workers and farmers to disseminate and transfer technology developed in the laboratory for the field application at farmers level and developing agriculture and allied sectors.
KVK Dibrugarh was established in the 2007. It is located in Romai-Kordoibam village covering an area of 16 ha. It is about 20 km away towards south-eastern direction of Dibrugarh town, the district head quarter, 8 km from Lahoal, a small town with a railway station and 15 Km from Dibrugarh Airport.

#The centre is presently working in production of certified and foundation seed of paddy, Toria and Mustard, Planting materials of Assam Lemon, Black pepper, dragon fruit, guava, litchi, mango etc. Duckery, Piggery, Dairy Demonstration unit, Integrated fish farming, Organic Tea, Pineapple, Litchi, Guava, Mango production blocks. Farm input production unit like Azolla, Vermicompost, Biopesticide, Biofertlizer, Mushroom unit etc.
Salient Achievements during 2023-24
⇒ Working as ATL KVK in Assam with Five ATL School of Dibrugarh in collaboration with ATMA
⇒ Performed collaborative programme with Coconut Development Board (CDB) for Area expansion of Coconut cultivation in the District where 3500 numbers of improved variety Coconut Seedlings were cultivated by150 numbers of farmers
⇒ Api-village Development with 300 nos. bee colony from where bee keepers are presently harvesting 45 quintals honey per year and additional queen too.
⇒ Four villages are under Mushroom Development Program and generating additional income through Mushroom production.
⇒ Introduced medium duration “Numoli “ rice variety in cropping sequence to increase the cropping intensity in the district
⇒ Developed a cluster (100 farmers) Assam Lemon Orchard in collaboration with Dibrugarh District Administration and Dept. of Agriculture, Dibrugarh Under the Technical guidance of KVK,.
⇒ Five numbers of FPCs were formed and performing activities in the District.
⇒ KVK Dibrugarh initiated awareness creation and cultivation of Millet in 10 ha area covering 50 numbers of beneficiaries
⇒ Conducted RKVY sponsored 3 days duration RPL Training programme at KVK, Dibrugarh
⇒ Successfully conducted two nos SFIM and one no. SF-PACS Training prog. at KVK
⇒ Performed CMPP /Amrit Bikshya Andolan Programme by KVK during the reporting period
