Achievements
  • Organized a national seminar on climate change and climate resilient agriculture during 17 to 19 March, 2013 under GKMS, Sonitpur. More 150 scientists from the different parts of India participated in the seminar.
  • Received the award of excellence for outstanding dissemination of Agromet Advisories to farmers – by IMD, Ministry of Earth Science, GoI. The award was received by Dr. Prasanta Neog, Nodal Officer, at the Annual review meeting of GKMS project held at IGKV, Raipur on 15 to 18th November, 2017.
  • Received the best paper award in oral presentation category for presenting paper “Management of Rhizome rot disease though adjustment of crop micro climate in north bank plain zone of Assam” in the International symposium on “Advances in Agrometeorology for managing climatic risk of Farmers – INAGMET-2019” which was held in JNU, Convention Centre, JNU, New Delhi during 11-13 February, 2019. The paper was presented by Dr. Prasanta Neog.
  • Received 3rd best paper (oral) award for the paper “Management of Rhizome rot disease …. microclimate” in the North east zonal and national conference of Indian Phytopathological Society held at AAU, Jorhat on 24-25, 2022. The paper was presented by Dr. Nripen Gogoi, RARS, Lakhimpur.
  • Received the best paper award on Teachers’ Category for the paper “PAR interception and radiation use efficiency in relation to growth and yield of potato under different microclimates at sub-tropical environment of Assam, India” presented in the Virtual National Conference on “ Strategic Reorientation for climate smart Agriculture (V-AGMET 2021) which was organized by Association of Agrometeorology and PAU during 17-19 March, 2021. The paper was presented by Mr. Raktim Jyoti Saikia (2017-AMJ-22)
  • Miss Mamoni Panging was conferred with the Best MSc. Thesis Award for her thesis “ Assessment of microclimate modification in potato crop using mulches under Jorhat condition” by the India Society of Dry-land agriculture, CRIDA, Hyderabad. She received the award during the International Conference on Reimagining Rainfed Agro-Ecosystems: Challenges & Opportunities during 22-24, December, 2022 at ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad. Dr. Prasanta Was her Major Advisor.
  • Dr. Prasanta Neog et al., received the “Professor Venkataraman best paper award Agrometeorology on biotic and abiotic stress management” for the year 2023 by the Association of Agrometeorologists, Anand, Gujrat for the research paper “Response of modified microclimates on growth, yield and rhizome rot disease of ginger” published in the international journal of Biometeorology (2022) 66:719-730.
