Achievements
  • Prepared Block wise GIS based soil fertility map ( main campus farm and Tokowbari farm) of AAU-ZRS, Shillongain for different soil parameters like available N, available P2O5, available K2O, org C, pH, Fe, Mn, Zn and Bulk density.
  • Prepared soil fertility status (nutrient status of av N, av P2O5, av. K2O, org C, and pH) mapping of CRS, Tinsukia.

Prepared land use cover map of CRS farm of Tinsukia
  • Technologies developed under AICRP (F):

Involved as a concerned scientist of nutrition and water management experiments i.e total 9 experiments under AICRP- F at CRS, Tinsukia . Out of which Four number of Technologies have been developed under my supervision from our center under AICRP (F):

    1. Standardization of stage wise requirement of nutrients in Khasi mandarin: Nutrient application at 0:0:0, 30:40:10, 30:35:10, 20:25:30, 10:0:25 and 10:0:25 per cent of RDF during stage I to VI, was found to be effective in improving the yield and quality of mandarin

    2. Integrated Nutrient Management in Khasi mandarin: Application of 75% of Recommended Dose of Fertiliser + VAM (500 g/plant) + PSB (100 g/plant) + Azospirillum, (100 g/plant) + T. harzianum (100 g/plant) in two splits were found to be effective in improving the yield and quality of Khasi mandarin

    3. Identification of critical stages of water requirement in citrus

    4. Studies on irrigation and nutrient interaction in citrus: Irrigation schedule at 80-90 percent ER with 70 %-80% RDF fertigation through drip irrigation system during flowering to fruit development in summer month(Jan-Jun)with water stress in Dec is recommended

Involved as associated scientist following Technology developed under AICRP (F):

    5. Rejuvenation of Khasi mandarin orchards: Rejuvenation of mandarin orchards can be done by soil application of 25 kg FYM + 5 kg neem cake + multiple microbial culture (T. harzanium, Pseudomonas flourescence and Azotobacter /Azospirillum) to each plant along with50% recommended dose of fertilizer(+ FeSO4, MnSO4, ZnSO4 and Borax) as soil application and 50% recommended dose of fertilizer(+ FeSO4, MnSO4, ZnSO4 and Borax) as foliar application.

    6. Management of lemon butterfly, Papilio spp.: Foliar application of Beauveria bassiana @ 4x 106cfu/ml (0.1%) at the appearance of the larvae on leaves is recommended for the management of lemon butterfly. It is effective up to 14 days.

    7. Management of Citrus psylla, Diaphorina citrii: Foliar application of novaluron 10 EC @ 0.005 % (5g/100L) twice at 15 days interval during flushing period, with the appearance of nymphs on twigs, is recommended against citrus psylla on Khasi mandarin
  • All the Assam lemon growers of Hahkhati-Dirak area were organized into a cooperative society and registered the society in the name of “CRS- Naa-Dihing Nemu Tenga Unnayan Samity” ( registration no. 26210304/1645 dated 26.07.2017. And under the supervision of all scientist CRS, Tinsukia, the Assam lemon farmers were guided and assisted and linked with IPR Cell of AAU, Jorhat and Dept. of Horticulture , AAU, Jorhat applying for Geographical indication (GI) for Assam Lemon to NBPGR, New Delhi and recently GI tag for Assam lemon is announced for the benefits of the farmers.
  • Soil sample analysis of beneficiaries from Margherita Block for citrus cultivation under MGNREGA scheme
  • Surveyed different khasi mandarin orchards of Tinsukia district and categorized them as high medium and low yielding orchards using DRIS indices. And also remedial measures have been suggested to improve their category by yield maximization
  • Prepared a Land Use Plan for Dorika Watershed of Sivsagar district and . Characterized and classified the soils of Dorika watershed and prepared fertility mapping for Dorika Watershed using GIS and Remote Sensing Technique. Evaluated Soil site suitability for different crops of Dorika Watershed. Identified different water harvesting structure at suitable sites of Dorika Watershed
  • Soil test based fertilizer recommendation for targeted yield of pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata) under rice-pumpkin cropping system. Derived a fertilizer prescription equation for pumpkin suitable for the state of Orissa.
