Achievements
  • Best Poster presentation award for "Effective management strategy for papaya mealybug" in International conference on biodiversity, food security, sustainability climate change (ICBFSCC-2023) held on 25-28th April,2023 at AAU, Jorhat.
  • Dr. R. N. Borkakati, Scientist (Stage-3) received the “SRMR Gold medal award” for significant contribution on Rapeseed-Mustard research & Extension in Assam from Padma Shri Prof. (Dr.) Arvind Kumar. The award was conferred by the “Society for Rapeseed-Mustard Research”, Bharatpur, India during the 5th National Brassica Conference held from 7th – 9th February,2024 at RARI, Durgapura, Jaipur in collaboration with ICAR-DRMR, Bhartapur, Rajasthan.
  • Dr. Rudra Narayan Borkakati was honored with the "INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH STAR AWARD" in Agricultural Entomology for his research on "Indigenous Technical Knowledge of Assam for Pest Management – Exploit Potential in Organic Agriculture," presented by the World Research Council, Oxford Research News, and Z24 News. The award ceremony took place on 23rd June 2024 at Grandeur Hall, Breeze Residency, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India.
  • Dr. R. N. Borkakati has been elected as Councillor (East) for the Executive Council of the "Society for Rapeseed-Mustard Research," Bharatpur, India, for the biennium 2024-26.
  • Dr. Rudra Narayan Borkakati received the Best Oral Presentation award for "Manipulation of Habitat for Management of Key Pests of Cabbage" at the "International Conference on Climate Change, Biodiversity, and Sustainable Agriculture (ICCBSA-2018)" organized by Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat, and Prof. H.S. Srivastava Foundation for Science, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, held from 13th to 16th December 2018 at AAU, Jorhat.
  • Dr. Rudra Narayan Borkakati, as a team member of AAU-ZRS, Shillongani, received a Certificate of Appreciation from ICAR-DRMR for excellent performance in research and technology dissemination of rapeseed-mustard during 2023-24.
  • Received “Prof. Md. Sharifullah Memorial Award” for the best M.Sc. (Agri) thesis in Entomology for the year 2006-2007 on 18.08.2007 at AAU, Jorhat.
  • Dr. Rudra Narayan Borkakati was honored with the "Best PhD Thesis Award-2023" in Agricultural Entomology for his outstanding research on "Mealybug Diversity and Their Management." The prestigious award was presented by the Dr. Ram Avatar Shiksha Samiti during the National Webinar on "Prospective, Priorities, and Concentration of Agriculture for a Self-Reliant India," held on 14-15 September 2024. This recognition highlights his significant contributions to the field of agricultural entomology, particularly in advancing knowledge on mealybug diversity and sustainable management practices.
