  • PROJECTS HANDLED: Projects handled as Principal Investigator: 1.DBT funded project entitled' Engineering resistance against Cucumber Mosaic Virus in King chilli / chilli through RNA silencing technology" worth Rs. 58,12,993.00-/- in collaboration with TNAU, Tamilnadu sanctioned dated 13th September 2018. ( Project completed in 2021) 2. Principal Investigator of the ICAR IISR funded TSP project entitled “Popularization of Soybean for food, nutritional and livelihood security of tribal farmers in two tribal populated districts of Assam" and successfully conducted 5 cultivation demonstration program of soybean and 5 different training programs in Dhemaji and Udalguri districts of Assam 3. Principal Investigator of the ICAR NEH funded project entitled " Popularization and commercialization of soybean in NEH " in the year 2022 and successfully conducted cultivation demonstration program of soybean in 13 districts of Assam and 4 different training programs Jorhat district 4. J. Gowtham Kumar received APS -Travel sponsorship grant in the virtual symposium of Indian Phytopathological Society ( North East zone) on " Plant Disease Management : Experiences and Aspirations" dated December 07-08 ,2020 with his paper presentation entitled"Post transcriptional gene silencing using coat protein gene specific dsRNA molecules against cognate Cucumber Mosaic Virus infecting Bhut Jolokia crop of Assam" authored by R. Gowtham Kumar, Munmi Borah,S.     Seed Treatment with Thiophanate methyl + Pyroclostrobin (Combo) 500 FS @ 2ml/kg seed + Thiomethoxam 600 FS FS @ 2ml/kg seed is found most effective in integrated management of root rot complex, pod blight disease and insect pests of soybean with enhanced yield
